DECEMBER CHRISTMAS SPECIALS @ JOLS

Hi there,

I just want to send out a reminder about the December Christmas Specials that are being offered at JOLS.

One of my favourite things is the adidas Large Judo Sports Bag (see the JOLS website).

This bag is suitable for both competition and training - you can fit at least three judogis, belt, drink bottle, tape bag etc in the main section. The bag is easily accessible with a large heavy duty zip down the middle of the bag. There are also extra zip compartments on each side of the bag which are really handy for storing valuables and other things. My favourite part about this bag is that it is easily convertible from a carry bag into a backpack using the straps which are hidden inside the bag - this is especially good for travelling. The bag is made out of extra heavy duty nylon material and contains mesh panels to ensure that your gear is able to breath after a tough session. Most importantly, this bag looks good - it is black with white adidas detailing with the word 'JUDO' in English and Japanese characters at one end. If you want to show off your passion for Judo, this bag is for you!

I would highly recommend adidas Large Judo Sports Bag to anyone. This bag looks good and is practical and tough enough to withstand high use and the rigours of training and competition. It is all you need.

Best wishes,

Steph

Samoa World Cup

Last week I travelled to Samoa with the Australian Judo Team to compete in a World Cup event and participate in a training camp following the competition. Overall, it was a successful trip - I won a silver medal, and although I had of course wanted the gold, I am feeling positive about the future and where to go to from here. Nicolas Gill (2000 Sydney Olympic Games silver medallist and Canadian Head Coach) ran the training camp and he demonstrated some good techniques.

Samoa was my last competition for the year, and although my coach said that I could have some time off, I am keen to get back into training. I am looking forward to training hard over the summer especially and working towards my goals.

I learnt yesterday that I will not dissolve if I go running in the rain.

Yesterday morning, I got up early to go for a run. I didn't want to go, but I scraped myself out of bed. I was tired, it was raining outside, and I had all the excuses lined up for reasons why I shouldn't get out of bed. But I thought to myself "it is only one extra hour in bed versus feeling guilty the whole day for not training when I had made an agreement with myself that I would".

When you make an agreement you stick to it. So I headed out the door....It was raining outside and I obviously got wet, but I felt better for it. It was a great start to the day.

It really brought home to me the idea that if you are motivated to achieve your goals, you really shouldn't let anything get in your way. Especially not a little bit of rain!
